Adopt-A-Highway – 11/1/25

The next Adopt-A-Highway sweep will be Saturday, November 1, from 9:00am – 11:00am.

Come join us as we pick up litter along Betsy Kerrison Parkway. Meet at the Lake House around 8:45am. The litter sweep starts at 9:00am at the Lake House. Please bring gloves, long pants, and good walking shoes. Bags and pickup sticks will be provided. The Parkway has a paved sidewalk that will be used, and the pickup will last until 11:00am. Let’s keep the entryway to our island clean!

Adopt-A-Highway – 9/13/25

The next Adopt-A-Highway sweep will be Saturday, September 13 from 9:00am – 11:00am.

Meet at the Lake House around 8:45am. Sweepers will be provided along with pick-up sticks and bags. Please bring gloves, water, bug spray/sunscreen and walking shoes.

We will walk Betsy Kerrison Parkway between Habitat Road and River Road picking up litter. Let’s top our best sweep of 17 bags (225 pounds) of trash, and make our entryway to Seabrook Island beautiful!

Sweepers are invited to the May 17 Adopt a Highway Sweep, weather permitting. It is a great way to meet new people and old friends, get some exercise and beautify the entry to Seabrook Island.

Meet at the Lake House around 9:00am. Sweepers will be provided with pick-up sticks, neon orange vests and bags. We will sweep for approximately 2 hours or as long as you are able. Each bag should weigh no more than 15-pounds and personal safety is first-and-foremost for all participants. On average, 3 bags of trash are collected by a participant.

Participants may choose an area along Betsy Kerrison/Bohicket/River Road they would like to see tidied up, or go to an assigned area.

Meet at the Lake House around 9:00am. Sweepers will be provided with pick-up sticks, neon orange vests and bags. We will sweep for approximately 2 hours or as long as you are able. Each bag should weigh no more than 15-pounds and personal safety is first-and-foremost for all participants. On average, 3 bags of trash are collected by a participant.

Adopt-A-Highway – 12/7/24

Adopt-a-Highway invites you to work off your Thanksgiving waistline on Saturday, December 7; 9:00am – 11:00am. The volunteer team will meet at the Lake House parking lot before heading to Betsy Kerrison. Litter bags, vests and pick-up sticks provided. The sweep lasts about two hours. Past collections average 12-15 bags of litter, removing 225lbs of debris from our roadway.

Adopt-a-Highway invites you to join in for a fall stroll down Betsy Kerrison Parkway on October 26; 9:00am – 11:00am. The volunteer team will meet at the Lake House parking lot before heading to Betsy Kerrison. Litter bags, vests and pick-up sticks provided. You will need gloves, long pants, sunscreen, and possibly bug spray. Water will be provided.
