Beach Project Update – 2/28/25

The sand recycling scope of work was completed in December 2024. The seawall repairs were completed on February 21, 2025. The seawall has now been restored to it originally permitted height and condition.

A video showing the length of the current seawall is below. You will notice the significant growth of wet sand beach from the Beach Club towards Dolphin Point. This wet sand beach is accessible at low tide and should continue to grow south as sand moves in this direction.

The contractor will be working on demobilization and site restoration and should be complete by the end of March.

The damaged section of asphalt in the exit lane as you are leaving the island passed the Gate House is scheduled to be repaired on Thursday and Friday (2/6 and 2/7).

One lane will be repaired at a time and residents should not experience any traffic delays, but please exercise caution while driving past this area.

Boardwalk 2 and Boardwalk 3A Replacement

SIPOA plans to replace sections of boardwalks 2 and 3A before the summer.

The first half of these boardwalks is planned to be replaced with a new boardwalk structure with IPE decking.

The boardwalks will be closed on Monday, 2/10/25 for a period of 10-12 weeks to allow for this replacement. The boardwalks will not be accessible during this time.

We appreciate your patience as we work to keep our facilities in great condition.

Living Authentically Workshop

What obstacles keep us form living authentically?

This free workshop will work on one of those possibilities: family of origin.

Join Kathy Maher, Family Constellation Facilitator, as we look at root causes of discomfort carried in our family lineages and attempt to actively begin healing what prevents us from living authentically. This is a participatory workshop preceded by meditation and inner reflection on what is being brought to the light for you to look at.

There are two workshop offerings:

  • Option 1: Thursday, February 13 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm
  • Option 2: Monday, February 24 from 1:00pm – 4:00pm

To register, please email Kathy at eksdmaher@gmail.com and include the workshop date you prefer. Space is limited to 14 per session, so please register for one of the two dates. The workshop will be located at the Oyster Catcher Community Center.

Come prepared to engage in the process. It can be fun, you’ll see!
