Over the past year, the Architectural Review team has implemented internal tools and processes, helping us communicate more effectively and reduce approval times. We’re excited to begin transitioning to the Citizenserve platform.

While it may take a few months to fully integrate all approval processes and work through any issues, we’ll begin with the Small Project Review module. This module will go live on Citizenserve on Monday, September 14, 2026. As we get closer to launch, we will share the link information on how contractors, architects, and Property Owners can create accounts and access the system to initiate smaller projects such as painting, roofing, or rot repair at single family residences and regimes. Property Owners will also be able to track approval review, status, and respond to any Architectural Review staff questions and comments directly through the portal.

After the Small Project Review module is established, we’ll be rolling out the New Construction, Major Remodel, and Compliance modules. Once all modules are operating smoothly, Architectural Review Requests will be accepted exclusively through the Citizenserve portal.

Since the Town of Seabrook Island and the Town of Kiawah Island also use Citizenserve, most local contractors and architects will be familiar with the platform, general upload requirements, and communication process. We are excited about this transition and technological benefits Citizenserve will bring to our Property Owners and community. We also appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through this initial implementation and learning period together.
